About

Originally from Western New York, Nancy Culver is now a Liberty, Maine resident. Nancy earned a degree in Graphic Design early in her career and continued gaining an interest in fine arts when studying art history and being introduced to impressionistic style painters. She works primarily in pastels, charcoal, and graphite, and is inspired by nature, places she has traveled, and people she has met along the way.

Nancy believes in the healing power of art and spent two years volunteering with a healing arts organization in Denver. After living in Colorado for twenty-four years and enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, the opportunity to move back to the East coast came knocking. Spending time outdoors in all the natural beauty Maine has to offer is a source of inspiration for a majority of her recent work. She aims to capture a sense of place or a moment in time and share it with others who may not have the opportunity to experience it themselves.
